Dear Riverdale Families,

I am so excited to attend Riverdale High School's musical production of Bob Carlton's RETURN TO THE FORBIDDEN PLANET, William Shakespeare's long-lost 60s rock musical!

Our students have been working diligently to bring us a magical night of acting and singing that promises to be unforgettable in the history of Riverdale productions.  I personally will be attending two performances because I find that as the students perform for the audience, their acting just gets better and better.

Our renowned director, Mr. Rick Zimmer, describes the play this way:

“Who would have thought Shakespeare and sixties rock music had anything in common? And then, when you place the story onboard a "Star Trek" type space ship, things become even more fun.  It has been a delight to see the cast warm up to the language of Shakespeare, sing the nostalgic music of the sixties all the while poking fun at Star Trek, alien robots, asteroid storms and an evil monster that must be controlled or all is lost on the forbidden planet.

Return to the Forbidden Planet shows for three days only at the Broadway Rose Theater in Tigard, Oregon.

Thursday, January 20, 2011 – 7:30 pm

Box Office Phone:  503-892-0722

To purchase tickets, click on BUY TICKETS HERE! (located in the upper right corner under "Important Stuff")

Here are some points to know about this system:

1.  This is an e-print ticket system.  In other words, you buy a ticket, you get a link to a page that you print, and then you bring your e-print ticket with you to the theater.  There are no paper tickets.

2.  If you forget to print your ticket and/or you show up at the theater with out your e-print ticket -- not to worry!  Ticket Turtle keeps track of all seats sold and who bought them.

3.  Ticket handling fee is $1.50 per ticket.  This offsets the cost of the Ticket Turtle transaction fee of 75 cents and the transaction fees associated with a credit card transaction.  This fee keeps the drama program from having to absorbed this cost for each ticket sold on Ticket Turtle.

4.  If you wish, you can direct friends and family to riverdaledrama.com and it will bring them right to this blogspot.

Many, many thanks to Cheryl Trine for all of the time spent setting this up.

Thanks.

Live long and Prospero!

Rick Zimmer, Director
